Description
2nd century B.C. Æ (14 mm, 3.65 g). Elephant advancing left; swastika and indradhavaja below; inverted taurine to left / To left, 3-arched hill above hollow cross; to right, taurine above tree-in-railing. Pieper 190; MACW 4290. A superb specimen with complete details. Brown patina. Extremely fine.
The uninscribed cast copper coins (UCCC) of northern India are the earliest copper coins issued in the subcontinent.
