Sarangadeva. Before 1296. Æ 1/2 unit (12 mm, 1.31 g). Elephant standing left / Nagari legend (Sri) Sara(nga)deva in two lines. Unpublished. Very rare and unpublished. Green patina, minor porosity. Fine.

The Vaghelas were the last Hindu rulers of Gujarat, who ruled from the 10th to 13th centuries, before it was annexed by the Muslim Sultans of Delhi.Â

No fractional denomination of the Vaghelas is recorded. This specimen has Sarangadeva's name clearly visible on reverse.
