SELEUKID KINGS, Antiochos I Soter. 280-261 BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.75 gm; 30mm x 27mm). Struck in Pergamon under Philetairos, in the name of Seleukos I, circa 279-274 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion's skin headdress / Zeus seated left, holding eagle and sceptre; helmeted head of Athena in left field, star below throne. SC 308a; Newell, "The Pergamene Mint Under Philetaerus," ANSNNM 76, 5 (dies V/5); SNG Spaer 242 var. Nicely struck on a broad flan. Choice Very Fine. Scarce !
