Domitian. A.D. 81-96. Æ as (28 mm, 8.03 g, 6 h). Rome, A.D. 88. [IMP CAES DOM]IT AVG GERM P M TR P VIII CENS PER P P, laureate head of Domitian right / [COS XIIII] LVD SAEC FEC, S C in exergue, emperor standing right, sacrificing over altar at feet to left; before him, kneeling figure holding head of bull, which a victimarius is about to slay with an axe; between the sacrificial scene and altar, lyre player and flute player standing right; in background, hexastyle temple. RIC 625; BMC 438; BN 469-70. Good type. Dark green patina with some red-brown, areas of roughness on obverse. Fine.
