Description
Severus II. As Caesar, A.D. 305-306. Æ follis (27 mm, 9.64 g, 6 h). Treveri. FL VAL SEVERVS NOB C, laureate and cuirassed bust of Severus II right / GENIO POPV-LI ROMANI, Genius standing facing, head left, drapery about waist, holding patera and cornucopiae; S-F//PTR. RIC 651 and 667a. Dark brown patina with heavy green deposits. Could probably be improved with cleaning. Good very fine.
There is some confusion regarding this issue in RIC. RIC 651 is described as being scarce (S) while RIC 667a is described as being common (C), yet the two entries are identical and are even recorded as from the same issue!
