Description
Saloninus. As Caesar, A.D. 255-259. BI antoninianus (23 mm, 3.66 g, 6 h). Samosata, under Gallienus and Valerian I, A.D. 256-260. SALON VALERIANVS NOB CAES, radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Saloninus right / SPES PVBLICA, prince in military dress standing right, holding scepter and receiving flower from Spes, walking left, lifting hem of skirt. RIC 36; Göbl 1696d; RSC 95. Well struck on a full flan, darkly toned. Good very fine.
