Description
ARMENIA. Tigranes II. 95-56 BC. AR Tetradrachm (15.36 gm; 27 mm). Antioch mint. Draped bust right wearing tiara with star and eagles; beaded pyramidal points on tiara / Tyche of Antioch seated right on rock, holding branch, river-god Orontes below; monogram before, monogram below on rocks. Nercessian, "Silver Coins of Tigranes II of Armenia," Armenian Numismatic Journal (vol. XXVI, pts. 3&4 [2000]), Group 1 (A1/P?). Well struck on a nice flan. Well-centered. Choice VF. Nice original find patina.
