INDO-PARTHIANS, Margiana or Sogdiana. late 1st century BC. - early 1st century AD. AR Drachm (2.50 gm; 18 mm). Margiana mint. "Helmeted" Countermark issue. Imitating countermarked drachms of Parthian king Phraates IV. Diademed and draped bust left; behind, eagle left, holding wreath; on neck, circular "countermark" of helmeted king right / Archer (Arsakes I) seated right on throne, holding bow; ? below bow. Senior 199.2D; Sellwood 91.13; Shore 473; Sunrise 494. Well struck on a nice flan. Choice EF. Toned.
