Constans. A.D. 337-350. AE Centenionalis (3.73 g, 22.0 mm). Heraclea mint, struck A.D. 348-351. DN CONSTANS PF AVG, pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust left, holding globe in right hand / FEL TEMP REPARATIO, helmeted soldier, spear in left hand, advancing right, head left; with his right hand he leads a small figure from a hut beneath a tree holding bow; SMH[?] in exergue. RIC 71, LRBC 1886. gVF, attractive aqua-marine patina. A note for RIC 71, p. 432, says "Sydenham hoard. In the L specimen, the small figure appears to hold a bow in r. hand." The bow in this example is exceptionally clear and is only noted for coins of this type from the Heraclea mint. This appears to be a very rare variant, and an exceptional example.
