Description
An excellent Chancay pallet figure from Peru, c. 1100 – 1450 AD. It is 5-3/4” high and depicts an individual on a large funerary pallet. The piece is molded in fine detail, is hollow and contains rattles. Even the back is completed with molded boards and painted cross-bars. A rare example in perfect condition, with strong mineral deposits. Ex Shaw collection. Value range: $500 - $700
