Description
The first is an Iron Age II jar from the Holy Land, c. 9th - 6th Century BC, with two small loop handles and decorated with brown slip. H: 6 ½” (16.4 cm). Intact, light encrustation. The second is a Roman jar, c. 3rd - 4th Century AD, the sides with heavy horizontal ribbing and three pierced lug handles for suspension. H: 3 ¾” (9.5 cm); Dia: 5 5/8” (14.2 cm). Intact, dark sooty deposits and silica encrustation. Ex Orange County private collection. Value range: $500-$600.
