Lot 263: ANTIQUITIES, Inca whistle vessel

An excellent Inca double-chambered whistle vessel from Peru, c. 1300 – 1500 AD. This beautifully decorated example is 6-1/2” high, 7-1/4” wide and features a superbly detailed monkey atop the spout of the front chamber. Both chambers are decorated with bands of fish molded in relief, the slip is nicely burnished and the whistle has a clear tone. Ex Shaw collection. Value range:$600 - $800
