Lot 278: ANTIQUITIES. A Lot of 3 Choice Roman Bronze Brooches

A lot of 3 well-preserved Roman bronze brooches. The first is a choice Roman Crossbow fibula, 3rd - 4th Century AD, with crisply incised decoration all original parts, only end of pin missing, L: 3 1/8” (8 cm); The second is a Kr?ftig profilierte type, 1st Century AD, intact, with original pin and coil, L: 2” (5 cm); The third is a lozenge-shaped plate brooch with lugs, 2nd Century AD, with intact light green enameling and original pin, L: 1 3/8” (34mm). A very nice group, the crossbow fibula just a superb example! Ex Los Angeles private collection. Value Range $300-$400.
