Description
Thracian Kingdom. Lysimachos. As King, 306-281 B.C. AR tetradrachm (28 mm, 17.09 g, 12 h). Uncertain mint, perhaps Lysimachia(?) or Sestos(?), probably lifetime issue, ca. 297/6-282/1 B.C. Diademed head of deified Alexander right, wearing horn of Ammon / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ, Athena seated left, holding Nike and resting elbow on shield set behind her; spear at far side; in inner left field, monogram. Thompson -; Müller 531. Subtle toning. Light grafitti on left edge of reverse. Good very fine.
