Description
Cilicia, Tarsos. Mazaios. Satrap of Cilicia, 361/0-334 B.C. AR stater (23 mm, 10.87 g, 9 h). B’LTRZ (in Aramaic), Baaltars seated left, holding holding grain ear, grapes, and lotus-tipped scepter; below throne, monogram / MZDY (in Aramaic), lion attacking stag left; to lower right, retrograde D; all within incuse square. Casabonne series 1, grp. A; SNG BN 314-7; SNG Levante 111. Nice reverse. Test cut repaired and surfaces slightly eroded. Extremely fine.
