Antoninus Pius. A.D. 138-161. AV aureus (19 mm, 6.96 g, 6 h). Rome, A.D. 148/9. ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P TR P XII, laureate bust of Antoninus Pius right, slight drapery on shoulders / C-OS IIII, Aequitas standing facing, head left, holding scales and cornucopiae. RIC 177e; BMC 650; Calicó 1503. A wonderful example struck perfectly centered on an exceptionally round flan, the portrait in very high relief. Choice extremely fine and lustrous.
