Description
SASANIAN KINGS. Bahram (Varhran) V, 420-438 AD. PB (Lead) unit (2.38 gm; 16 mm). Obverse, Bahram's bust turning right with Kidarite symbol in front of face, reverse, fire altar with attendants. Bahram defeated the Kidarites who were constantly a thorn on the side of the Sasanians on the eastern frontier of the empire. Holed at 1 o'clock. Well struck on a nice flan. Original find patina. Extremely rare.
