Description
Geto-Dacians, Eravisci. 1st century B.C. AR denarius (19 mm, 3.21 g, 5 h). Laureate head of Jupiter right, ring below eye / [R]AVIS (S retrograde), globe between scepter (resembling a thunderbolt) and rudder. R. Freeman, ""A group of Eraviscan denarii,"" Essays Hersh dies 1'/B, pl. 29, 3; CCCBM I 268. Crudely struck from an extremely worn obverse die. Dark iridescent toning along edge. Fine / very fine.
A duplicate from the RBW Collection of Roman Republican Coins.
The coin copies the Republican denarii of Cn. Lentulus, Crawford 393/1.
