Description
Lucania, Metapontion. Ca. 340-330 B.C. AR nomos (21 mm, 7.61 g, 3 h). Helmeted head of Leukippos right; behind, cross-torch / META, barley ear with leaf to right; above leaf, T[H]. Johnston class A, 5.7 (same obv. die and die-state); SNG ANS 405 (same obv. die); HN Italy 1555. Lightly toned, dies somewhat worn. Nearly very fine.
Purchased by the previous owner from Dave Shower at the Sacramento Coin Show, 9 April 2005.
