ARAB-SASANIAN. Salm b. Ziyad (680-684 AD (60-65 AH). AR Drachm (4.02 gm; 34 mm). Sasanian style king bust to the right, name in front of the face,GDH and APZUT behind the crown,triple dots at 6 o’clock,Phrase: Bismillah (in the name of Allah) on the second quarter, reverse; fire altar with attendants, year to the left 64, mint to the right APARSHAHR, (Khorasan region). Some minor hairline scratches on reverse. Bit wavy flan. Well struck. Choice Good EF. Per Album, his coins were minted in the period of major 3 way struggle between Umayyads, Hephtalites and Zubairids. Most of his coins were struck in Khorasan region. Extremely Rare (RRR).
