Description
SELEUKID KINGS of SYRIA. Seleukos I Nikator, sole reign. 312-294 BC. AR Tetradrachm (26mm - 17.27 g). Seleukeia mint. Struck after 295/6 BC. Laureate head of Zeus right / Athena Promachos, brandishing spear and holding large shield, in quadriga right drawn by elephants; anchor above, D behind, Q in exergue. SC 130.22b; ESM 63. Good VF,light toning, obverse a bit off center with a rough spot on the cheek, reverse perfectly centered and well struck.
