Antoninus Pius. A.D. 138-161. Æ sestertius (31 mm, 22.74 g, 12 h). Rome, A.D. 143/4. ANTONINVS AVG PI-VS P P TR P COS III, laureate head of Antoninus Pius right / BRIT-A-N-NIA, S C in exergue, Britannia seated left on rock, left elbow leaning on shield, holding standard and spear. RIC 742; BMC 1637/9 (obv. of 1637, rev. of 1639). Rare. Reddish-brown patina with some flan striations on the reverse. Nearly very fine.
