Philip II. As Caesar, A.D. 244-247. Æ sestertius (31 mm, 23.87 g, 12 h). Rome, under Philip I, A.D. 246. M IVL PHILIPPVS CAES, bare-headed and draped bust of Philip II right / PRINCIPI I-VVENT, S C across field, Philip II standing facing, head left, holding globe and inverted spear. RIC 256a. Nice brown patina with light deposits of earthen green. Choice very fine.
