Description
Anglo-Gallic. Henry VI. First reign, 1422-1461. AV salut d'or (27 mm, 3.45 g, 6 h). Rouen (mm: leopard passant left), Second issue, 1433. The Annunciation showing the Virgin, nimbate, standing facing, receiving tablet inscribed AVE from the Archangel Gabriel standing left; before, arms of France and England; double-pellet stops in legend, pellet-in-annulet below last letter of legend / Latin cross between lis and lion passant, h below; all within decalobe, each point ending in lis; star stops in legend, pellet-in-annulet below last letter of legend. Beresford-Jones 7; Elias 270c; Poey d'Avant 3181. Weak strike on Virgin. Good very fine.
