Maximianus. First reign, A.D. 286-305. Æ antoninianus (23 mm, 3.38 g, 1 h). Lugdunum, AD 289. IMP C MAXIMIANVS P F AVG, radiate, helmeted and cuirassed bust of Maximianus right / VIRTVTI AVGG, Hercules standing right, strangling the Nemean lion; behind, his club upon which Victory standing right, crowning him with wreath. RIC 460; Bastien, Lyon II 233. Nearly full silvering. Extremely fine.
