ANTIQUITIES, A beautiful Maya polychrome bowl from the Motagua Valley region of Guatemala, ca. 400 Ð 800 AD. It is 6Ó in diameter and is decorated with alternating panels of stylized spider monkeys and Kan symbols, which refer to ÒThe day of Ripe MaizeÓ, allowing us to understand that this vessel was during for harvest celebrations. A band of repetitive diamonds adorn the lower portion of the chamber. Vivid colors, good mineral deposits and root marks, stabilized hairline.
