A large Egyptian “frog” lamp, Roman, 3rd Century AD, with high relief of two palm branches and three raised knobs. Central filling-hole within inward-sloping rim with raised border. Short tapered nozzle, stylized volutes and double-grooves at nozzle junction. Base flat. Intact, crème buff, and a larger than usually seen for this type of lamp. 4 1/2” (10.4 cm) x 4 1/8” (10.5 cm). Ex Orange County private collection. Value Range $350-$450.
