Description
An excellent Maya carved cylinder jar from the Motagua Valley of Guatemala, c. 400 – 700 AD. It is 6” in diameter, 5” high and is decorated with deeply carved, slanted ribs and a rim band of glyphs. Nicely burnished with good root marks and mineral deposits. Museum deaccession. Value range: $650 - $850
