Lot 283: ANTIQUITIES. An Italo-Geometric Pottery Skyphos

An Italo-Geometric pottery skyphos, c. 6th Century BC, the body decorated with horizontal red and vertical bands in reddish slip. H: 3 1/8” (7.9 cm); W: 6 ¼” (15.9 cm). The foot is nicely turned and two loop handles at rim level. Intact, minor rim chip and earthen deposits. Cf. Harvard Art Museum, no. 1916.300 for identical example; Ex Los Angeles private collection. Value Range $500 - $600.
