BYZANTINE EMPIRE. Constans II. 641-668 AD. Gold Solidus (4.40 gm; 20 mm). Constantinople, 662-667. Crowned and draped busts of Constans and Constantine IV facing, Constans's crown topped with a plume; cross above. Reverse: VICTORIA AVG?, Cross potent set on three steps; Heraclius, holding long cross, and Tiberius, holding globus cruciger, standing facing to left and right, respectively; B//CONOB. Cf. DOC 30 (unrecorded officina); MIB 31; SB 964. Lovely strike. Choice Superb EF with some luster.
