ROMAN EMPIRE. Severus Alexander. 222-235 AD. AR Denarius (3.01 gm; 20 mm). Struck in Rome, 231 AD. IMP ALEXANDER PIVS AVG, laureate bust right, slight drapery over far shoulder / VIRTVS AVG, Virtus standing right with foot on helmet, holding sceptre and parazonium. BM 754; RIC 222; RSC 582. Lovely strike on a nice full flan. Choice Superb with some luster. Lightly toned.
