Description
BYZANTINE EMPIRE: Nicephorus III Botaniates (AD 1078-1081). AE follis (24mm, 7.25 gm, 6h). NGC XF 5/5 - 3/5. Constantinople. IC-XC, three-quarter length figure of Christ standing facing, wearing nimbus cruciger with one pellet in each arm, pallium and colobium, raising right hand in benediction, cradling Gospels in left; large star in left and right fields / C-F-N-?, cross with globule at each extremity, eight-pointed star within circle at center.
