Description
CURACAO / DUTCH COLONY: 3 Reaal, Pieces of Eight, c 1815-1819, AR 4.4g. Cut from Spanish (Mexico Colonial) 8 Reales. Stylized "3" within dentilated circulate indent applied to the reverse of a 1/5 cut Spanish colonial portrait 8 reales. Course diagonal, dentilated, crenations on the sides. These are relatively rare and difficult to find on the coin market. F/ VF with XF Countermark. The Numismatist, Vol 33, page 338. KM 29.
