SASANIAN KINGS. Valkash (484-488 AD). Silver Drachm (3.70 gm; 29 mm). Mint: GN (Gondishapur). Valkash, obverse, Valkash's bust turning right, reverse, fire altar with attendants in prayer mode, figure on the altar mint GN (Gondishapur in Khuzistan province of Iran) on the right, no name or date on the left. Extremely rare mint as not recorded by Moshiri or Sellwood. SNS type Ib/1b; Göbl type I/1; Paruck 368; Saeedi 255; Sunrise 955var. Well struck on a nice broad flan. Choice EF. Toned. Rare.
