Description
KINGS of PARTHIA. Artabanos IV. 10-38 AD. AR tetradrachm (13.73 gm; 25 mm). Seleukeia on the Tigris mint. Diademed facing bust, long beard, long hair, no ear or earring visible / Artabanos on horseback left, receiving palm from Tyche, standing right before him, holding staff; T-L-H (year in retrograde) in field around Artabanos, monogram (month) under horse. Sellwood 63.1 (Artabanos II); Shore 332 (Artabanos II); BMC Parthia pg. 148, 20; MACW 617 var. (Artabanos II; month); Sunrise 411. Minor grafitti on the obverse field, otherwise well struck for the issue. Very rare.
