KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III. 336-323 BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.77 gm; 27 mm). Lifetime issue, Tarsos mint, circa 327-323 BC. Struck under Menes or Philotas. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion-skin headdress / AΛEΞANΔPOY, Zeus Aëtophoros seated left on backless throne, holding sceptre and eagle; plough in left field, monogram under throne. Price 3019. Some minor porosity, otherwise Well struck on a broad flan. Nice style. Struck from high relief dies. Choice Superb. Nice old cabinet toning.
